Breast Cancer Awareness Month

8 October 2015

As you may (or may not) be aware, October 1st marks the start of breast cancer awareness month in the UK. This is one of the most important times of the year for raising awareness for breast cancer and the impact it sadly has on so many women's lives.

Every 45 minutes another woman will die of breast cancer. With breast cancer currently being the 3rd highest killer amongst women, it is sadly the likely case that this disease has affected most people's lives in one way or another, but we can put a stop to this.

I have had a personal experience with cancer, when my grandma was sadly taken away too young, after bravely fighting years of breast cancer. She died when my dad was only seventeen and this has left a big hole in his life. His mother never got to experience his wedding, the birth of his first child, or many other momentous occasions in his life. Cancer not only affects the person diagnosed but also everyone who is in this person's lives. Many people are deprived of a mother, a wife, or sister, and have to cope with this loss for the rest of their lives, but we can make a change.

As you are probably aware, there are many charities out there trying to support women suffering from cancer and also the research into trying to cure this horrible disease. This is why it's so important that we are all making an effort to support these charities because if we all act now, by 2050, it is believed that every women to ever suffer cancer will live.

I feel like this is such an important cause, and even if you can only donate £1, every donation makes a difference to someone's life.

This year glamulet is supporting this cause, and so can you. By purchasing one of their pink bracelets or charms that support the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, you are helping us move one step closer to curing cancer. 50% of the sales from each purchase you make is given to charities that are supporting breast cancer and getting us one step closer to finding the cure.

I hope you can find it in your heart to support this cause and donate to help find a cure for breast cancer.
