Springtime Nails

9 April 2014

Hello lovelies. Now that spring has sprung, it's officially time to bring out those gorgeous pastel shade nails. Spring is one of my favourite times of the year, the key reason being all the beautiful colours. I think pastels are great for spring, as bold neons are a more bright classic for summer. Today I'm going to show you one of my favourite simple nail art styles for spring.

I have used:
Tanya Burr nail polish - Little Duck
White Nail art pen
Black Nail art pen (both from Primark)
Nail gemstones

1. Paint your nails in a pastel shade of your choice
I personally chose the colour Little duck from the Tanya Burr nails range because it's my favourite shade from the collection and is a beautiful pastel turquoise. I like to use a few coats of my varnish to ensure I get a full coverage on my nail and it doesn't look streaky.

2. Decorate your nails in pattern of your choice
I used the white nail art pen for my pattern and used a simple combination of polka dots and zig zag. I decided to use zig zag on my thumbnail and my accent nail and polka dots on the rest.

You can always leave your nails here for a cute understated design, or continue if you want to go a bit more bold!

3. Build up your nail art on your accent nail and thumbnail
Now using a black nail art pen I draw a heart outline on my thumb and then fill it in. Another optional extra is to also use some added nail art on your accent nail, suchas a simple xo

4. Decorate your thumbnail with extra gems and sparkles
I kept my gems quite simple by just using 3 pink gemstones in the corner of my heart, but you can build this up as much as you want.

5. Admire your new gorgeous nails!

I really love this simple nail art style which can be easily created within 10 minutes. What's your favourite nail art style? I'd love to recreate it!
