Product review of the week - Batiste cool and crisp fresh dry shampoo

25 March 2014

Hello lovelies. It seems like ages since I've done a product review but here we are again! I popped into superdrug over the weekend, just with intentions of browsing, but you can never leave the shop without picking something up! I was on my way to the tills when the Batiste dry shampoo caught my eye as it was half price (meaning I got 200ml for under £2.50!)

Batiste dry shampoo -
Cool and crisp fresh

I am a big fan of dry shampoo's and batiste seems to be the only one what really works for my hair. My hair is pretty fine and has a tendency to look greasy if I don't wash it everyday. Obviously washing your hair everyday isn't good because it takes out all the natural oils in your hair that help it staying and looking healthy. I love to use batiste on the go or as an alternative to having to wash my hair, because it still leaves it looking clean and fresh and smelling lovely!

I've previously used the hint of colour batiste for brunettes, but as that bottle is coming to an end I've decided to try out something new, so I picked up the cool and fresh scented dry shampoo. My first impressions of this product is that it would have quite a natural scent and it would indeed, as the name suggests leave my hair looking fresh and crisp.

I really like the packaging used on all the batiste bottles, because I think it's a simple and understated design that still looks affective because of the variety of colours used. One look at this bottle and it made me think of days on the beach and the sea.

My first impressions were pretty right; one way to describe the scent is that it really does smell like the salty sea on a crisp afternoon. Although batiste is quite well known for it's strong smelling scents, this isn't too 'in your face' and leaves your hair with a nice, light floral, fruity scent but also the crisp smell of a salty sea (if that analogy makes any sense...)

This dry shampoo is in my opinion even better than the hint of colour shampoo I had previously used. Although the previous dry shampoo was good I found it didn't smell that great, whereas this one still possesses all the great qualities of the batiste dry shampoo, whilst also smelling lovely!

Overall, I absolutely love this product. It keeps my hair fresh when I don't have time to wash my hair, or don't want to. Obviously, I wouldn't recommend using this on a daily basis as it does dry out your hair, as it's removing the excess grease, so also treat yourself to homemade/store bought hair masks as well as conditioning your hair. If you're interested in this dry shampoo you can check out the link here; there are also little baby 50ml dry shampoo's for on the go, which are super cute too!
