Hello my lovelies! I've finally managed to just about connect to the wifi, so I'm writing this as fast as I can before the internet kicks me off! Last weekend I went out into town and had a bit of a mini drugstore haul, and one of the things I picked up was the collection lasting perfection concealer. I've previously been using my rimmel wake me up concealer but as this had ran out, I thought it was a good opportunity to try something new! I think this product cost me around £3.99 which I thought was pretty cheap and an inexpensive try at something new.
The one thing that surprised me was the quality of the packaging. During the small time it took to drive home from town the writing on the concealer had already started to rub off! Ironically, the 'lasting perfection' of this perfection was soon gone and made my concealer look tatty and worn before I'd even broke the seal!
I chose the colour 'fair 1' which was the lightest of the colours and was a good match to my skin tone. One thing I was impressed with, was the wide range in shades and colours. In the small store I was in, there had to be at least 9 different shades, which I thought was really good, because there's nothing worse than having a concealer or foundation that doesn't match your skin tone!
The concealer quite surprised me at it's quality! It's really pigmented and gives good coverage; especially for under-eye circles and any redness or blemishes on the skin. It also really lightens your face making you look more awake and alert.
I also really liked the applicator; the slight curve in the middle helps it collect lots of the product on at once, meaning you don't need to keep dipping your applicator back into the product too much!
As the packaging claims, the concealer is really long wearing, and although I haven't been in the situation where I'm needing concealer for 16 hours, I'm sure this will live up to it's name! Not to mention it also blends really nicely!
Overall, I think this product is really good for the price (it's almost half the price of Rimmel!) It has a good range of colours, really good pigmentation, and a nice applicator. If you're looking for a cheaper, more affordable concealer, I highly recommend!

Hello my lovelies! I feel like I don't do enough 'everyday' posts on here so I thought I'd do just that today. I managed to snap a few quick pics at the Quay today and I quite liked how they turned out! I was quite surprised at the quality of the pictures since I took them on my phone (Blackberry Z10) and they look almost as good as they would of with my camera!

Hello my Lovelies! It seems like ages since I've done a product review of the week but here we are again! Today I'll be reviewing the Superdrug's own Cucumber cooling clay face mask.
I'll be the first to admit, I was honestly quite apprehensive about whether this product would work for me as my face is sensitive and dry, however the mask claimed to be ideal for sensitive skin and it would 'eliminate impurities and sooth skin for a vibrant fresh faced look'
The directions on the back said to apply with the mask with your fingers to a clean, dry face and leave on for 10 - 15 minutes and then wash it off.
I was quite surprised at the consistency of the facemask as I had only previously used gel styled masks before. It's quite thick with almost a sticky feel to it. I think this is better than the gel because its much easier to apply and it's easy to see if you missed any spots as it is far more opaque than your usual gel mask!

The facemask straight out of the packet |
I had no problems applying this mask and they are certainly more than generous with the amount given in the packet! One thing I would say was rather disappointing was, as I first started to apply the mask it did sting quite a bit which surprised me as it was meant to be 'ideal for sensitive skin'. However, this is the only issue I had and since I purchased it at the bargain price of 99p I can hardly complain!
Over the 10-15 minute period I could notice and feel as the mask began to harden from its previously soft state. I then grabbed some cotton wool pads and gently started to cleanse the mask from my face. Instantly my face felt fresher and more revitalized. Hours later my face is still reaping in the benefits and feels lovely and hydrated and soft.
This is a lovely weekly treat which I would recommend to you all. If you aren't interested in this 'flavour' there is a wide range available on the Superdrug website and they are currently on offer 4 for the price of 3. Four facemasks for £3, you can hardly complain! Link to the website is here.

Hello my lovelies! I know you're probably sick of reading about nails now, but I was very excited today when Tanya Burr Nails arrived! Tanya is an amazing youtuber and blogger and I was so pleased and excited for her when she released her new Lips and Nails were launched. Each polish was £5.99 and I got free delivery for spending over £10. I also really liked the cute packaging it came in and thought it was a really nice idea.
I purchased the colours Little Duck and Peaches & Cream because I really like the pastel shades and it really compliments my skin tone. I also really love the love heart design on the base of the lid!
"I really loved the packaging" |
I was also really pleasantly surprised by the excellent of the polishes. They have a really nice pigmentation and can last over a week without chipping. One thing I do find, is if the polishes are a lighter colour you usually need to do 2 or 3 coats but apart from that I really love the quality of these products.
I really recommend this product to any of you reading; if you're from the UK, don't be put of by the fact that it is from America, I found although I did have a postage delay, my products still arrived within 6 days and were in perfect condition!
Tanya has also released a range of lipglosses too, and if you're interested in any of the products, please check out the link here!

I really like this nail art/polish style because I thinks its cute and stylish and really simple to do! I just used a nail strengthener first, my flormar matte pink polish and my primark nail art pen. I really like the primark nail art pens because they are stripers and pens in one, and contains gemstones in the other side. Also they are only around £2 for a pack of two.
Rimmel nail rescue strengthening lacquer, flormar matte pink nail polish, primark nail art pen |
I think this is a really cute look that you can change how you want, to make it more stylish or fun. If you want something more stylish trying black nailpolish and white nail art pen, or if you want something more fun, use a different coloured polish for each nail and use bright colours for the lip nail art.
Try using two curved lines to the impression of lips! |
What kind of styles do you like on your nails? Let me know if you liked this kind of post and want to see more.

Hello my lovelies!
I am very excited to tell you I've been nominated for the liebster award by http://mehshake.blogspot.co.uk/! This award was created to help promote new/small blogs and widen their audience.
The rules and how this works are very simple:
1. You have to link back to the person who nominated you and answer the 11 questions they asked you with in their liebster award post.
2. You must pick 11 nominees for the liebster award and tell them that they've been nominated. You cannot pick the person who nominated you.
3. You must ask your nominees the 11 questions of your choice.
My answer to mehshake's questions:
1. What's your favourite skin care product?
The dermalogica clear start collection. As a teen, this product is a lifesaver! Offering a range of skincare products from oil clearing matte moisturisers to emergency spot fixers, I highly recommend you check them out!
2. If you could be any celebrity for the day, who would it be?
Demi Lovato. She is such a big inspiration and is such a great role model for everyone. I'd love to have that kind of effect and be such a strong person!
3. What's the best present you've received?
My lomography camera! I love photography and lomography gives me beautiful pictures with a vintage spin and I can get my shots drenched in colour or plain and classy in black and white.
4. What's your favourite designer?
Coco Chanel. I think she was such a inspiration to fashion design and I truly don't think fashion now would be the same without her!
5. If you could choose one make up company to work with, who would it be?
Benefit. I absolutely love the benefit products, so I think it would be a great honor to get to work with them!
6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
It's hard to say where I'll be in 5 years time, I still have so many decisions to make, such-as if I will go to university. I hope that I will still be blogging in 5 years time because It's such a rewarding hobby and it means the world to me!
7. What's your favourite online shopping website?
Asos or Urban Outfitters. I really like asos because I could literally buy all my clothes from there and end up in thousands of pounds of debt paying for all the lovely items! I also really love Urban Outfitters because they offer a unique range of gifts and clothing.
8. What book have you read recently, and enjoyed?
I've recently re-read The Fault in Our Stars in anticipation for when the film comes out, so that's definitely my all time favourite book. However, I've just finished the book The Iron butterfly which is part of a series, and have started book two. I'm really enjoying this series and it has a good mix of action and romance.
9. How did you think of your blog name?
oodlesojess just came from when I first starting thinking about making a blog. I wanted a blog with lots of things about me and my opinions so thats where oodles came from (my terminology for lots) and Jess (pretty self explanatory..) I titled my blog Jessie because that's what my closer friends and family call me and I wanted something simple for the title.

Hello my lovelies! Following the 'My top 5' theme on my blog I started back in October, I thought today I'd share with you my top 5 hair essentials. It was quite hard choosing between products so I excluding the usual items like shampoo/conditioner (Tresemme colour revitalize if you were interested) and tried to get a wide spread of products. Please excuse the terrible lighting in the pictures, by the time I got the chance to take these pictures, all the natural lighting had gone!
1. Vo5 give me texture
I really love this spray because it works like a sea-salt spray and gives limp, lifeless hair, instant texture. Simply spray it in and scrunch and you're away! The 200ml (like my own) is only £3.79 from boots.
2. Batiste Dry Shampoo
I really like the batiste dry shampoo because its a quick fix if you don't have time to wash your hair, and leaves it smelling fresh and clean. I purchased the hint of colour for brunettes because at this point I was growing out some hair-dye and the spray helped make the look of my roots a bit more discreet.
3. Vo5 heat protect spray
Another Vo5 product! But this time we're talking heat protect. Using a heat protectant spray is really important if you're going to be exposing your hair to heat which can cause damage. This is also really important if your hair is dyed because your hair is already vulnerable and damaged so you don't want to cause any more damage to it!
4. Tangle Teezer
Tangle Teezers are a life saver when you're out and you're hair has been exposed to the weather! It's a handy size so you can squeeze it into your handbag and take it around with you without a problem. It also eases through any knots in your hair and leaves it silky smooth and shiny.
5. Babyliss Curling wand
This isn't really a hair product, but for me it is an essential! My hair is straight and quite thin, so something like this is just what I need. This curling wand gives me volume and texture and leaves my hair in wavy or curly ringlets. What I really like here is that you don't use a clamp so the curls look natural, you can choose the heat settings depending on your hair's thickness, and you can decide how defined you want your curls to be!
